Frequently Asked Questions

Are telehealth cannabis consultations private?

Yes. Your medical marijuana evaluation is considered PHI and is protected under HIPAA. Your private data is secure with Doctors of Cannabis. We have a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) that ensures your privacy with any third party we connect you to.

Do I pay the consultation fee if I don't get approved?

No. Online medical marijuana doctors provide a professional and independent evaluation. If you don't get approved, you don't pay. Licensed physician's approval and state approval are two separate processes. We cannot refund the state fee.

Can I use my card in other states?

We help you understand reciprocity law depending on different states. While some states allow it, taking medical cannabis across state lines is considered a violation of federal law.

How fast is the Doctors of Cannabis process?

Most appointments with online medical marijuana doctors take 15 minutes. If they determine you qualify, our concierge team immediately starts your application process if you opt for assistance. We try to make your application process as quick as possible.

Can I get a medical marijuana card online without my employer finding out?

Yes. Doctors of Cannabis is HIPAA compliant. Every medical marijuana evaluation is protected PHI. Your employer does not get access to your personal medical records. We ensure your data never gets sold or shared with any third party.

Can I do a virtual consultation for medical cannabis during lunch break or after hours?

Yes. Our daily hours are 8AM to 10PM. So you can contact us even during lunch breaks and after office hours. However, your appointment time with online medical marijuana doctors will depend on their availability.
