This Medical Disclaimer must be read and understood before you use any Doctors of Cannabis services. The information on our website and the services we provide do not constitute a guarantee of any medical outcome. Please read the following carefully.

This Is Not a Substitute for Your Doctor

The information and services provided by Doctors of Cannabis are not a replacement for the advice, diagnosis, or treatment of your primary care physician or any other licensed healthcare provider. If you have a serious or ongoing medical condition, you should continue to work with your existing doctors alongside any medical cannabis evaluation you choose to pursue.

A medical marijuana recommendation from one of our physicians is one piece of your overall healthcare. It does not replace the management of your underlying condition by a qualified medical professional.

We Cannot Promise a Specific Outcome

Medical cannabis affects every person differently. While many patients report relief from symptoms related to their conditions, we cannot guarantee that medical cannabis will work for you, reduce your symptoms, or produce any specific result.

The licensed physicians evaluate each patient individually and make recommendations based on their professional medical judgment. Their role is to determine whether medical cannabis may be appropriate for your situation - not to guarantee results.

On our website and in our materials, we use language like "support," "manage," and "ease" when describing what medical cannabis may do. We do not use the word "cure" or make any claims that medical cannabis will cure any disease or condition. These are important distinctions.
The Physician Has the Final Say

Every evaluation conducted through our platform is performed by an independent, licensed physician in your state. Only the licensed physician decides whether to issue a medical cannabis recommendation.

We do not coach, pressure, or influence any licensed physician's decision. If they determine that medical cannabis is not appropriate for you, that decision stands. You will not be charged if you are not approved.

Qualifying Conditions Vary by State

Each state that has a medical cannabis program maintains its own list of qualifying conditions. A condition that qualifies in one state may not qualify in another. Some states have open-ended lists, and some have very specific requirements.

The licensed physicians are knowledgeable about the qualifying conditions in their specific state. During your evaluation, they will discuss your condition in the context of your state's specific requirements.

Don't self-exclude. Many patients rule themselves out before even talking to a licensed physician. If you have a condition that affects your daily life and traditional treatments have not given you the relief you need, talk to a licensed physician. They are the experts on what qualifies in your state.
Cannabis and Federal Law

State-licensed medical cannabis and FDA-approved cannabis products are classified as Schedule III controlled substances under federal law. However, most medical cannabis products available through state programs have not been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

A state medical cannabis card provides protections under applicable state laws only and does not guarantee protection under federal law or federal policies. This may be important if you work for a federal agency, live on federal property, travel across state lines, possess firearms subject to federal restrictions, or are subject to federal drug testing requirements.

Doctors of Cannabis helps patients navigate their state's medical cannabis program. We are not a medical practice and do not employ the licensed physicians in our referral network. We do not provide legal advice or guarantee protection from any federal, state, or local legal consequences related to cannabis use.
We Are Not Providing Legal or Insurance Advice

Nothing on our website or in our services constitutes legal advice. If you have questions about how a medical cannabis card interacts with your employment, insurance, custody arrangement, firearms ownership, or any other legal matter, please consult a qualified attorney.

Medical cannabis evaluations and cards cannot be billed to health insurance. If you have questions about your insurance coverage or how cannabis use may affect your policy, contact your insurance provider directly.
