This Medical Disclaimer must be read and understood before you use any Doctors of Cannabis services. The information on our website and the services we provide do not constitute a guarantee of any medical outcome. Please read the following carefully.
This Is Not a Substitute for Your Doctor
The information and services provided by Doctors of Cannabis are not a replacement for the advice, diagnosis, or treatment of your primary care physician or any other licensed healthcare provider. If you have a serious or ongoing medical condition, you should continue to work with your existing doctors alongside any medical cannabis evaluation you choose to pursue.
A medical marijuana recommendation from one of our physicians is one piece of your overall healthcare. It does not replace the management of your underlying condition by a qualified medical professional.
We Cannot Promise a Specific Outcome
Medical cannabis affects every person differently. While many patients report relief from symptoms related to their conditions, we cannot guarantee that medical cannabis will work for you, reduce your symptoms, or produce any specific result.
Our physicians evaluate each patient individually and make recommendations based on their professional medical judgment. The physician's role is to determine whether medical cannabis may be appropriate for your situation - not to guarantee results.

On our website and in our materials, we use language like "support," "manage," and "ease" when describing what medical cannabis may do. We do not use the word "cure" or make any claims that medical cannabis will cure any disease or condition. These are important distinctions.
The Physician Has the Final Say
Every evaluation conducted through our platform is performed by an independent, board-certified physician who is licensed in your state. That physician - and that physician alone - decides whether to issue a medical marijuana recommendation.
We do not coach, pressure, or influence any physician's decision. If the doctor determines that medical cannabis is not appropriate for you, that decision stands. You will not be charged if you are not approved.
Qualifying Conditions Vary by State
Each state that has a medical marijuana program maintains its own list of qualifying conditions - and those lists are different. A condition that qualifies in one state may not qualify in another. Some states have open-ended lists, and some have very specific requirements.
Our physicians are knowledgeable about the qualifying conditions in each state they are licensed in. During your evaluation, your doctor will discuss your condition in the context of your state's specific requirements. Do not assume you do or do not qualify until you have spoken with a physician.
Don't self-exclude. Many patients rule themselves out before even talking to a doctor. If you have a condition that affects your daily life and traditional treatments have not given you the relief you need, talk to one of our doctors first. They are the experts on what qualifies in your state.
Cannabis Remains Illegal Under Federal Law
Despite being legal for medical use in many states, marijuana is classified as a Schedule I controlled substance under U.S. federal law. This means that, at the federal level, possessing, using, or distributing marijuana is a crime - regardless of whether you hold a valid state medical marijuana card.
A state medical marijuana card does not protect you from federal prosecution. It protects you under state law only. This is important to understand if you work for a federal agency, live on federal property, or are subject to federal drug testing.
Doctors of Cannabis helps you navigate your state's medical marijuana program. We do not guarantee protection from federal law enforcement or any federal legal consequences related to marijuana use.
We Are Not Providing Legal or Insurance Advice
Nothing on our website or in our services constitutes legal advice. If you have questions about how a medical marijuana card interacts with your employment, insurance, custody arrangement, firearms ownership, or any other legal matter, please consult a qualified attorney.
Medical cannabis evaluations and cards cannot be billed to health insurance. If you have questions about your insurance coverage or how cannabis use may affect your policy, contact your insurance provider directly.
