Erick Kaufman, MD
Medical Director
Erick Kaufman, MD, hails from Oklahoma City, where he was born and raised. He earned his medical degree with Honors from the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine in 1992, subsequently pursuing training in Ophthalmology. Dr. Kaufman further advanced his expertise by completing an Internal Medicine residency and obtaining board certification in Portland, Oregon. He spent over ten years in private practice within a large multi-specialty group.
In 2010, Dr. Kaufman returned to Oklahoma City to join the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine as an Assistant Professor. During his time at the University, he participated in faculty practice, provided care on the wards, and led teams of students and residents in hospital-based settings. Dr. Kaufman also took on the role of Associate Program Director, focusing on recruiting and developing Internal Medicine residents. Additionally, he served as the Medical Director for the Internal Medicine Residency clinic, where he guided and educated the next generation of students and residents in outpatient medicine.
Dr. Kaufman and his team provided care for over 200 indigent patients weekly. At the University, he held roles such as Chief Quality and Safety Officer, engaged in research, and volunteered at Good Shepherd Clinic. In 2017, he transitioned to the private sector and founded Doctors of Cannabis (DOC) in 2018, where he serves as Medical Director. DOC focuses on clinical care, education, safety, and research in medicinal cannabis.
Jeremy Boucher, MD, PCEO
Jeremy Boucher, MD, PCEO, originally from Los Angeles, has spent most of his life in Oklahoma. He excelled academically, graduating as Valedictorian from Carl Albert High School and earning a full scholarship to Oklahoma State University. He completed his medical education at Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center, graduating with distinction and joining the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Boucher completed his Anesthesiology Residency as Chief Resident and pursued further training in transplant anesthesiology. Since 2007, he has been a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist in private practice in Oklahoma City.
In addition to his primary training, Dr. Boucher has pursued numerous other areas of education throughout his career including Pain Management, Sleep Medicine, Medical Cannabis, and also in Addiction Medicine, in which he is board certified. Furthermore, Dr. Boucher attended Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL, and obtained a “Physician CEO” degree in only the second year of this prestigious, physician-only, internationally-competitive program limited to less than 30 spots per year.
Dr. Boucher has fulfilled numerous roles in his medical career including leadership positions for Pain Management and Addiction Clinics, Nursing Homes, and various other medical facilities throughout the state of Oklahoma. He has been an Associate Clinical Professor for the IUHS Medical School and he recently instituted the first comprehensive addiction treatment program within the Correctional Medicine system in Oklahoma and in six surrounding states. Dr. Boucher has been a career educator and integrally involved in the education of Medical Students, Medical Residents, and Medical Fellows throughout his career. Dr. Boucher has maintained an interest in and has been involved in the practice of Medical Cannabis for several years, he was the third doctor in Oklahoma to register with the OMMA and has been the primary or contributing author to a number of hard-copy and online articles on the proper and safe use of Medical Cannabis. Throughout his career, Dr. Boucher has made being an advocate for patients his mission and passion, which is displayed in his numerous Professional achievements.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Dr. Boucher enjoys spending time with his family traveling the World as an avid and highly-trained SCUBA diver achieving international certification as a Master Diver, Technical Diver, and Divemaster.
Mary Pearson
Mary Pearson is an experienced entrepreneur who has owned and managed various businesses. As one of the founders of DOC, she plays a key role in business operations. Mary delights in traveling, spending quality time with friends and family, riding her Indian motorcycle, walking with her partner and two golden doodles, and hosting gatherings. Her aspirations include exploring the eastern coastal states, especially Maine, to savor some Maine lobster.
Tanya Fanning
Tanya has a long history of management and customer service experience and she has been with DOC since May 2019. She is an avid medical marijuana advocate and got into this field to help others get the medicine that they need. A married mother of five boys, she enjoys country living, cooking, and gardening.
Misty Jackson
Misty has a long history of being in the medical field, with degrees in allied health and biological science, and has been with DOC since July 2020. Having an autoimmune disease and experiencing the benefit medical marijuana can bring, helping others obtain access to the same benefits is one of her biggest fulfillment. She is a mother of two who enjoys photography, fitness, being outdoors, and spending time with her family.
