Dr. Erick Kaufman, MD
Medical Director
Erick Kaufman, MD was born and raised in Oklahoma City. He graduated with Honors from the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine in 1992 and went on to training as an Ophthalmologist. Dr. Kaufman then completed an Internal Medicine residency and board certification in Portland, Oregon. He enjoyed over a decade of private practice in a large multi-specialty group.
In 2010 Dr. Kaufman returned to Oklahoma City to join the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine as Assistant Professor. During his tenure with the University he was part of a faculty practice, attended on the wards, and led teams of students and residents in hospital-based care. Dr. Kaufman also worked as an Associate Program Director, recruiting and developing Internal Medicine residents. He also served as Medical Director for the Internal Medicine Residency clinic where he led and taught outpatient medicine to the next generation of students and residents.
As a part of this effort, Dr. Kaufman and his team provided care for over 200 indigent patients a week. During his time with the University, he gave Grand Rounds, trained and became the Chief Quality and Safety Officer for the Department of Medicine, participated in research and publications with the Sjogrens group at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, and was on the Governor’s Council of the American College of Physicians. Along with his professional activities, Dr. Kaufman volunteered his time as an attending physician at Good Shepherd Clinic in downtown Oklahoma City, which serves the poor and indigent.
In 2017 Dr. Kaufman left the University for the private sector. In 2018, along with an accredited group of investors, he led the creation of Doctors of Cannabis (DOC) medical practice where he is currently the Medical Director. The primary focus and mission of Doctors of Cannabis (DOC) is to be an authoritative source of clinical care for patients who wish to explore its medical use. The group also promotes education, safety, and research in this relatively new field of medicinal cannabis.
Dr. Jeremy Boucher, MD, PCEO
Jeremy Boucher, MD, PCEO, was born in Los Angeles, California, but has spent most of his life as an Oklahoman. He graduated as Valedictorian from Carl Albert High School in Midwest City and went on to a full academic scholarship at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, where he graduated Cum Laude.
Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Boucher attended the Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City for Medical School. He graduated from Medical School “With Distinction” and was a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, recognizing the top medical students in the country. Following Medical School, Dr. Boucher completed an Anesthesiology Residency at Oklahoma University Medical Center, wherein his final year of training he was unanimously elected to the position of Chief Resident. Dr. Boucher then pursued additional post-graduate training in solid-organ transplant anesthesiology and has been in private practice in the Oklahoma City area since 2007 as a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist.
In addition to his primary training, Dr. Boucher has pursued numerous other areas of education throughout his career including Pain Management, Sleep Medicine, Medical Cannabis, and also in Addiction Medicine, in which he is board certified. Furthermore, Dr. Boucher attended Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL, and obtained a “Physician CEO” degree in only the second year of this prestigious, physician-only, internationally-competitive program limited to less than 30 spots per year.
Dr. Boucher has fulfilled numerous roles in his medical career including leadership positions for Pain Management and Addiction Clinics, Nursing Homes, and various other medical facilities throughout the state of Oklahoma. He has been an Associate Clinical Professor for the IUHS Medical School and he recently instituted the first comprehensive addiction treatment program within the Correctional Medicine system in Oklahoma and in six surrounding states. Dr. Boucher has been a career educator and integrally involved in the education of Medical Students, Medical Residents, and Medical Fellows throughout his career. Dr. Boucher has maintained an interest in and has been involved in the practice of Medical Cannabis for several years, he was the third doctor in Oklahoma to register with the OMMA and has been the primary or contributing author to a number of hard-copy and online articles on the proper and safe use of Medical Cannabis. Throughout his career, Dr. Boucher has made being an advocate for patients his mission and passion, which is displayed in his numerous Professional achievements.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Dr. Boucher enjoys spending time with his family traveling the World as an avid and highly-trained SCUBA diver achieving international certification as a Master Diver, Technical Diver, and Divemaster.
Mary Pearson
Mary is a long-time entrepreneur having owned and operated several different businesses. She is one of the Founders of DOC and is primarily involved in business operations. Mary enjoys traveling, spending time with her friend and family, riding her Indian motorcycle, taking walks with her husband and two golden doodles as well as entertaining. Her bucket list includes visiting the east coastal states, in particular, Maine, and enjoying some Maine Lobster.
Tanya Fanning
Tanya has a long history of management and customer service experience and she has been with DOC since May 2019. She is an avid medical marijuana advocate and got into this field to help others get the medicine that they need. A married mother of five boys, she enjoys country living, cooking, and gardening.
Misty Jackson
Misty has a long history of being in the medical field, with degrees in allied health and biological science, and has been with DOC since July 2020. Having an autoimmune disease and experiencing the benefit medical marijuana can bring, helping others obtain access to the same benefits is one of her biggest fulfillment. She is a mother of two who enjoys photography, fitness, being outdoors, and spending time with her family.
